If you or a loved one has ever been
a patient at AAMC, you may have
encountered a doctor, nurse, technician,
sta member, or volunteer who
brought you comfort and reassurance
in a time of need. It may have been
the skilled oncologist who treated
your cancer, the compassionate smile
of a nurse during your rehabilitation
or a visit from a volunteer who treated
you like a member of her family.
ere are dozens of ways that
members of the AAMC healthcare
team make a di erence in the lives
of our patients. We hear about them
every day through letters, phone calls
and other expressions of gratitude.
e HOPE Program—Honoring
Our Patients’ Experience—gives
grateful patients and their loved ones
the opportunity to formally recognize
the exceptional care received at AAMC.
Whether you are paying tribute to a
special doctor or nurse, an entire
department, or a clinical program
that made an impact on your health
or that of a loved one, your gift is a
meaningful opportunity to say
“ ank you.” It also makes a
di erence at AAMC. As a non-pro t
organization, donations are vital to
our investment in advanced medical
technology, facilities and programs for
those we serve. Generous donors
ensure that we will continue to
provide essential resources for a
healthier tomorrow—for you, for
your family and for our community.
How Does a
Bequest Work?
A bequest is a gi of property or
money designated in your will or trust
and will not a ect your cash flow
during your lifetime. In addition, a
bequest can be revoked in the event
of life changes. For example, if you
need to reallocate assets to care for
a loved one in need of support, you
can amend your plans to best suit
your family’s needs at that time.
Decide what and how you want to
give:
Speci c bequest: a gi of a
particular piece of property, such
as a work of art or real estate
General bequest: a stated sum of
money
Residuary bequest: leaving
the remainder of your estate to
the Foundation a er all other
bequests, debts and taxes have
been paid
How would you like
your gi used?
You can designate how AAMC will
use the funds, such as for community
outreach, nurse education or
hospital expansion. Or you can allow
us to use the funds to meet AAMC’s
most pressing needs.

Donors Support
Continuing Ed
Nineteen scholarships are funded each year by generous donors to provide
an opportunity for our AAMC nurses to continue their nursing education.
ese scholarships not only help a deserving nurse each year, but they send
an important message about how much our community values nurses and the
care they provide to our patients and families every day.
