Exclusive MRI Technology
Now Available in Your Area
Anne Arundel Diagnostics Imaging
offers patients state-of-the-art magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI) with better
image clarity and more speed and
comfort. The new MAGNETOM Skyra has
the most powerful magnet commercially
available, called 3 Tesla—the only one of
its kind in the region.
The new technology means faster,
more efficient exams with higher-quality
images. The stronger 3T magnet delivers
sharper images to help your physician
make a more accurate diagnosis.
The technology is especially beneficial to
obese patients, those with claustrophobia
and young children who may have trouble
keeping still. The new, sophisticated
wide design makes it more comfortable,
allowing for a more relaxing experience.
The shorter magnet also means many
exams can be conducted with the patient’s
head outside of the system.

A Home Away From Home
for Patients and Families
The Hackerman-Patz House, which opened
in January, is a much-needed home away
from home for many of our patients and
families who travel long distances to
undergo treatment at AAMC. The building
was made possible through the generosity
of Willard Hackerman, president and CEO
of Whiting Turner. The Hackerman-Patz
House is named after Mr. Hackerman and
his wife, Lillian Patz Hackerman.
With the addition of this facility on the
AAMC campus, patients can have their
loved ones close by, which alleviates
the stress associated with a long-term
hospital stay. Guests at the Hackerman-
Patz House range from parents of
babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU), those receiving oncology
treatments, families with relatives in the
Critical Care Unit, to those undergoing
surgery. Families pay a modest fee for
the accommodations.

MyChart Helps You Stay
Connected With Your Health
Your health is important to you around
the clock—not just during office hours.
That’s why AAMC offers MyChart. Just ask
Angela Seymour.
I’m a huge advocate of MyChart,” says
Seymour. “Some questions can’t wait for
an appointment. Knowing that I can have
direct contact with my doctor between
appointments is reassuring. It adds a much-
needed personal touch to health care.”
With an online connection to your
doctor’s office, you can schedule
appointments, request prescription
refills, review your health history, and
more—online, anytime.
AAMC and many of our doctors’ offices
in the community offer this innovative
electronic health record. In fact, more
than 15,000 of your neighbors and friends
currently use the tool.
Check your doctor’s office to see if
it uses MyChart, and learn how you
can sign up for free today.
