In good health,
Looking Ahead
VISION
2020
When we look at the different
relationships we have in life, we
might think of the special bonds we
have with our spouse or partner, with
our parents or children, and with
good friends. Hopefully, these are
healthy relationships that serve as
a source of strength during good times and bad. Here’s
one more that should be up there as one of your most
important: the relationship between you and your doctor.
A healthy relationship with your doctor looks like
any other. For one, he or she should be someone you
trust. There should be mutual respect—you should
feel comfortable talking with your doctor, free to ask
questions and bring up any concerns you have. Your
doctor is your partner in care. Together, you make
decisions regarding treatment that are most appropriate
for you as an individual.
At Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), we’re
fortunate to have some of the best doctors and health
professionals in the U.S. Read the rest of this issue for
good health information as well as stories about our

As you look ahead into this new year, I encourage you
to shed the things that may be harmful to you. Consider

to live healthier in 2013.
