CONTENTS
So much has happened at Anne Arundel Medical Center
(AAMC) in the past year. As a result of opening the Hospital
Pavilion expansion in April 2011, we became the third busiest
hospital in the state. Even with all of this growth, our patient
satisfaction remains among the highest in Maryland.
Our expansion continues with new services and programs to
meet the health needs of our community and region. In August,
we opened the sixth floor of the Hospital Pavilion with a vision to provide specialized
care for the elderly. This December, we will open a new medical office building in
Odenton in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine. The building, which sits at
the corner of Route 175 and Sappington Station Road, will offer services including
primary care, orthopedics, physical therapy, oncology, women’s services, urology,
and diagnostic imaging. In January, we will open the Hackerman-Patz House, which
will be a much-needed home away from home for many patients and families
who travel from far and wide for treatment at AAMC. (See page 16 for more.)
What else is happening? With the arrival of new Chief of Surgery Adrian
Park, M.D., we’re excited to offer new surgical services, including a center for
digestive surgery, surgical weight loss program, and simulation training center
for teaching new minimally invasive surgical techniques and technologies. We’re
welcoming more than 30 new physicians this year in primary care and specialties
including digestive surgery, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, thoracic surgery,
weight loss, psychiatry, and OB/GYN.
Thank you for allowing us to provide you and your family with more care,
resources and education to live healthier.
In good health,
Victoria W. Bayless
President and CEO, Anne Arundel Health System
As I See It
“The quality of leadership
here is quite impressive, as
is AAMC’s unique culture of
care and collegial working
environment. AAMC takes
quality outcomes and the
patient experience very
seriously.”
—Adrian Park, M.D.
