If you’ve ever had relatives or close friends in the hospital,
you know how much you want to be near them. There’s
always the worry about their condition, especially when you
can’t be there around the clock. Imagine if you lived far away
and faced the added stress of driving back and forth between
the hospital and home.
Thanks to the generosity of philanthropists Willard and
Lillian Patz Hackerman, AAMC soon will provide welcome
relief to these families. Now under construction, the
Hackerman-Patz House is expected to open in early 2013.

Where There’s a Will…
The AAMC Foundation Heritage Society thanks
Larry and Liz Ulvila for informing us that they
have included AAMC in their future plans. Please
consider joining them as a Heritage Society member.
Designating AAMC to receive a gift (bequest)
through your will or trust is simple and will not
affect your cash flow during your lifetime. You may
stipulate that a specific amount or a percentage of
your estate will support our healthcare mission.

The Hackerman’s gift has enabled AAMC to build the
house, but dollars are needed to provide the furnishings
and ongoing operations and programming for the house.
Fortunately, a dynamic group of women is forming—led
by Heather Mohr, of Arnold, and Meg Samek-Smith, of
Annapolis—to help raise these needed funds and welcome
community participation.
