“We feel fantastic
to be in the
position to
give back. It is
rewarding to know
that we can leave
something after we
are gone that will
benefit others.”

Younger Donors Set
Example for Their Children
Ryan and Leslie Stangle had been looking for ways to give
back to their community and show their two young boys the
importance of philanthropy when they were asked to become
members of the AAMC Foundation Building Traditions Society.
“We both grew up learning the importance of giving back,
and we want to pass that down to our sons,” Leslie Stangle says.
“We had such an amazing experience having our two sons
at AAMC. From the classes to registration to going home,
the staff at AAMC were wonderful. We were so impressed
with the facilities and staff, and we felt very prepared when
we had our children.”
The Foundation formed the Building Traditions Society
in summer 2011 to engage adults between 25 and 45 who
want to make a difference in their community. These young
donors pledge to contribute $1,000 per year to support high-
quality healthcare programs, services and facilities at AAMC.
“The Building Traditions Society was perfect for us because
it is tied to young professionals,” says Ryan Stangle, who
is president of Chesapeake Benefits, Inc. “And by being
on the board, we are starting something great by building

AAMC Foundation: Making an Impact
Where There’s a Will…
The AAMC Foundation Heritage Society thanks Louise
and Harry J. Gregory for including us in their plans. Please
consider joining them as a Heritage Society member. Making
a gift (bequest) from your will or trust is simple and will
not affect your cash flow during your lifetime. There is no
minimum gift amount, and it is easy to revoke the bequest if
your financial situation changes.
Make a Difference
Leave a Legacy
this society from the ground up—organizing, forming and
growing the group. We have met so many wonderful people
through the society. The best part: We know where our
donations are going and can actually see how our money
helps patients in the community.”
Not only are the Stangles personally involved, but they also
had Chesapeake Benefits, Inc., sponsor the Building Traditions
Society November event at Chart House restaurant.
“Being part of Building Traditions is more than just
donating,” Ryan Stangle says. “We feel it is bigger than that.
The hospital is really engaging us and the community at a
younger age. We feel fortunate and proud to play our part. It
is so comforting to know AAMC is here when you need it.”
