The Building Traditions Society (BTS) announced Ryan
and Leslie Stangle as the new co-chairs of its board
of directors. The Building Traditions Society board
of directors consists of 15 families who coordinate
fundraising events and advocate on behalf of BTS and
AAMC. More than 90 families and individuals in the
community are members. Funds have supported many
different programs including pediatrics, the NICU, the
Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute, and the
Hackerman-Patz House. Each year, all members vote to
allocate the funds raised from the society’s membership
and activities.
The group hosted an annual fall fundraiser, Cocktails
on the Creek, on September 6. With more than 190
attendees, BTS raised $20,000 for AAMC programs.
Thanks to our sponsors, Annapolis Subaru and Annapolis
Pediatrics, for helping make this event a success. Beverages
were donated by BEAM Global, and food was donated
by area restaurants, including Salad Works, Paladar, Level,
Boatyard Bar & Grill, Gordon Biersch, Main Ingredient,
and Pussers Caribbean Grill. Music was provided by
Weird Science.
The AAMC Foundation is extremely grateful to the
members of the Building Traditions Society who make
$1,000 annual contributions to AAMC and for making
a tangible difference in the lives of countless children and
families who seek healthcare services at AAMC.

An important part of this program is the nurse navigator who
assists patients and their families as a source of information and
comfort during a stressful time. Nurse navigators also help patients
access multidisciplinary treatment, communicate with primary care
doctors and specialists, translate and interpret complex care plans,
and create survivorship care plans to coordinate care after treatment.
